Improve the efficiency of PE Jaw Crusher, reduce the failure rate, correct operation and maintenance is essential!
The operation and maintenance of the jaw crusher are very important. Incorrect operation is often a major cause of accidents. Today, we will talk about the things that affect the utilization rate, production cost, enterprise economic benefits, and equipment service life in operation and maintenance - the precautions for operation and maintenance.
1. Preparations before starting the machine:
1) Check whether the main components are in good condition, whether the bolts and other
connecting parts are loose, and whether the safety devices are complete;
2) Check whether the feeding equipment, conveying equipment, and electrical equipment are
in good condition;
3) Check whether the lubrication device is in good condition;
4) Check whether the valve of the cooling water pipe is open;
5) Check whether there are minerals or debris in the crushing chamber.
The operation and maintenance of the jaw crusher are very important. Incorrect operation is often a
major cause of accidents. Today, we will talk about the things that matter to the utilization rate,
production cost, enterprise economic benefits, and equipment service life in operation and maintenance - the precautions to be taken.
1. Preparations before starting the vehicle
1) Check whether the main components are in good condition, whether the fastening bolts and other
connecting parts are loose, and whether the safety devices are complete;
2) Check whether the feeding equipment, conveying equipment, and electrical equipment are
in good condition;
3) Check whether the lubrication device is in good condition;
4) Check whether the valve of the cooling water pipe is open;
5) Check whether there are minerals or debris in the crushing chamber, to ensure that the crusher
starts without load.
2. Starting and normal operation
1) Start the machine according to the operating procedures, i.e. starting in reverse production flow;
2) When starting the main motor, pay attention to the ammeter on the control panel, and after 20-30
seconds, the current will drop to the normal operating current value;
3) Adjust and control the feeding, so that the feeding is even, and the material size should not
exceed 80%-90% of the width of the feeding port;
4) The sliding bearing temperature should not exceed 60°C, and the rolling bearing temperature
should not exceed 70°C;
5) If the electrical equipment automatically trips off without a clear reason, it is strictly forbidden to
forcefully start it continuously;
6) When mechanical failure or personal accidents occur, stop the machine immediately.
3. Precautions for stopping the vehicle
1) The stopping sequence is the opposite of the starting sequence, i.e. operating in the direction
of the production flow;
2) The lubrication and cooling systems must be stopped after the crusher comes to a stop, and in
winter, the circulating cooling water in the bearing should be drained to avoid the bearing from cracking due to freezing; 3) After the machine is shut down, it is necessary to clean up and inspect the machine's various parts.
4、Lubrication
1) The eccentric shaft bearings, toggle plate bearings, and elbow joints of the jaw crusher are
lubricated with lubricating oil. In summer, 70-number mechanical oil is suitable, and in winter,
40-number mechanical oil can be used. If the jaw crusher is continuously working at high speed, and if there is an oil heating device in winter and the summer temperature is not too high, 50-number mechanical oil can be used for lubrication.
2) Large and medium-sized jaw crushers usually use pressure circulation lubrication for the
eccentric shaft bearings and toggle plate bearings. This is achieved by using an electric motor-driven
gear pump (or other types of oil pumps) to press oil from the oil tank through the pressure hose
into the lubrication parts. The lubricated oil flows into the collector and is returned to the oil tank
through the inclined return pipe.
3) The oil heater can preheat the lubricating oil before use in winter.
4) When the oil pump suddenly fails, the jaw crusher, due to its large swing force, will take 15-20
minutes to stop rotating. In this case, the lubrication can be maintained by hand-operated oil pump
to prevent the bearings from burning.
5. Inspection and maintenance
The inspection and maintenance of jaw crushers mainly include the following points:
1) Check the heating condition of the bearings. Because the bearing alloy used for casting bearing
shells can only function normally when the temperature is below 100 ℃, if it exceeds this
temperature, it should be stopped immediately for inspection and troubleshooting. The inspection
method is: if there is a thermometer on the bearing, you can directly observe its indicating number.
If there is no thermometer installed, you can use a hand mold, that is, place the back of your hand
on the tile shell. If it becomes hot and cannot be placed, it should not exceed 5 seconds. At this
time, the temperature exceeds 60 ℃.
2) Check if the lubrication system is working properly. Listen to the operation of the gear oil pump
for any impact sounds, check the value on the oil pressure gauge, check the oil level in the tank and
whether the lubrication system is leaking oil. If insufficient oil is found, it should be replenished in a
timely manner.
3) Check if the oil returned from the return pipe contains any metal particles or other dirt. If there are
any, stop immediately and open the lubricating parts such as bearings for inspection.
4) Check for loose connections such as bolts and flywheel keys.
5) Check the wear of the jaw plate and transmission components, check for cracks in the pull rod
spring, and ensure proper operation.
6) Regularly maintain the cleanliness of the equipment, ensuring no dust accumulation, oil stains, oil
leakage, water leakage, electric leakage, or dust leakage. Especially, it is important to note that dust
and other debris should not enter the lubrication system and lubrication parts. On the one hand,
they will damage the lubricating oil film, causing the equipment to lose lubrication and increase
wear. On the other hand, dust and other debris themselves are abrasives, which will accelerate the
wear of the equipment and shorten its lifespan after entering.
7) Regularly clean the lubricating oil filter with gasoline, and wait for it to completely dry before
continuing to use.
8) Regularly replace the lubricating oil in the oil tank, which can be changed every six months. This is
because lubricating oil is constantly aging and deteriorating during use due to exposure to air
(oxygen) and the influence of heat (the oxidation rate doubles when the temperature increases by 10
℃), as well as the infiltration of dust, water, or fuel, and other reasons, causing the oil to lose its
lubrication performance. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a reasonable lubricating oil
replacement cycle, which cannot be tolerated.
